After much, much procrastinating and weighing up, I took the plunge and got meself a decent mountain bike - a rather sexy Specialized Hardrock Sport.

Today I went out for an hour around my caravan site and still cannot believe that it can be so rural a mere 20 miles from central London. Had some fabulously mad descents down the valley, followed by the obligatory climbs... A bit too muddy, and the fact I was up at 02h30 for work wasn't good either, but I'm totally made up with the bike. Well chuffed.
